Communications Media Specialist

The City of Marshfield is seeking qualified applicants for a Communications Media Specialist

Position Summary:   The Communications Media Specialist assists in providing accurate and timely information via City publications, social media, City website, and Public, Educational and Government (PEG) Television media outlets.

Position Requirements:

Education:

Associate degree or Technical Certificate Program in Digital Marketing Promotion, Media Relations/Production, Communications, or related field is required.   

Experience: 

Minimum of 1 year Experience working with video recording/technology (including script writing, advanced editing and digital filmmaking), electronic circuitry, studio production techniques, and graphic imaging is required. 

License/Certifications: 

Valid Driver's License is required. 

Skills:

  • Excellent filming, production, and editing skills are required.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills are required.
  • Must be able to work independently to prioritize and manage urgent requests as well as structured long-term projects.  Must be flexible and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities and be able to work within deadlines.
  • Must be proficient with MS Office suite, SharePoint, Publisher/Illustrator, Adobe/Adobe Premier, etc.

Pay:  Pay range is $17.42 - $19.24 (July 1, 2018 rates).   The City offers a full benefits package including health/vision, dental, long term disability, flexible spending accounts,  457 Deferred Compensation Plan, and WRS retirement plan.
