The City of Marshfield is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Payroll Technician 

Position Summary:  The Payroll Technician performs work under the general supervision of the Accounting Manager.  This position is responsible for recording and processing financial, budgetary, and related data in a timely manner while using appropriate software and other technology. Specifically, general accounting, budgetary accounting, payroll, and accounts payable. 

Position Requirements:  Associate Degree in Accounting is required.  1 – 3 years of experience in payroll processing and associated report preparation required.  Must successfully pass a proficiency exam.  Knowledge of payroll laws and labor laws/regulations required.  Experience with the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) and government payroll preferred.  Proficiency in computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel and Word, required.

Pay & Benefits:  Pay range is $21.47 - $23.70 (July 1, 2018 rates).  The City offers a full benefits package including health/vision, dental, long term disability, flexible spending accounts,  457 Deferred Compensation Plan, and WRS retirement plan.
