2001 Volunteer of the Year

The Marshfield Parks & Recreation Department could not be successful without the many volunteers that help out every year.

In 2001, the Parks, Recreation & Forestry Committee decided to annually recognize an individual or individuals who have gone above and beyond in their volunteer service to the Marshfield Parks & Recreation Department.  The first Parks & Recreation Department Volunteer of the Year was awarded to John Leick.

John was recognized for his many volunteer hours and his dedication to making the wildwood Zoo a better place.  John served as President of the Wildwood Zoological Society for a number of years and was key in helping put together the annual Zoo Debut & Zoo Fest special events at the Wildwood Zoo.  John also unselfishly provided his time and talents to help out wherever he was needed in the Zoo Society programs and activities, and would assist the Zoo staff in securing new animals for the zoo.

Congratulations to John, and thank you to the many individuals who volunteer each year for the Marshfield Parks & Recreation Department.
