Planting a Tree –

  • Select a tree. We are open to all types of trees, although the City Forester will have the final approval.  Trees are approximately 1.5” – 2.5” in diameter and 6’ – 10’ tall.
  • Provide a message. A plaque will be installed near the base of the tree with your message.
  • Choose a location. Most of the city parks have space for additional trees.  Indicate where you would like to plant the tree. We will try to honor your wishes; however, the city may offer additional recommendations.
  • Complete the application.  Submit application with gift payable to the Marshfield Parks & Recreation Department.  A gift of $400 per tree is necessary.  The gift reflects the tree, delivery, soil preparation, planting, mulching, watering, recognition plaque, and future care.
  • Plant the tree.  Attendance during the planting is welcome, but not required. Let us know how you would like to be involved.  Trees are planted in the spring and fall only.

The Parks and Recreation Department will maintain a permanent record of Celebration Trees. The trees will be warrantied for five year; however, the marker does not carry a warranty.
