In order to monitor the success of the wastewater treatment plant processes, many daily or monthly biochemical analyses are required. Some analyses are required to be submitted to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WIDNR). The City of Marshfield Wastewater Treatment Facility laboratory is certified by the WIDNR. Therefore, not only can we perform our own treatment plant analyses, but we are certified to perform analyses for other municipalities and other outside source requests. Some of the parameter analyses we perform are: biochemical oxygen demand, suspended solids, phosphorus, ammonia nitrogen, hardness, ph, dissolved oxygen and biosolids analyses. Parameters such as metals or inorganics are sent to an outside commercial laboratory for analysis.
