The zoo is always in need of donated materials as well as donations toward big projects.  Some zoo supplies get used up quickly while others wear out from everyday use and need to be replaced. Environmental enrichment items are also something the zoo is always looking for through donations.

There are several big projects going on at the zoo right now. The biggest one is raising funds for a new bear exhibit. Two other large projects are adding a new exhibit for a small mammal and building another raptor exhibit between the screech owls and the new bald eagle exhibit. These projects are made possible through donations from the community.

Below are a couple of ways you can donate to the zoo as well as the zoo's wish list. If you are able to help please fill out one of our donation forms and mail it to Wildwood Park Zoological Society P.O. Box 523 Marshfield WI 54449 or drop items off at the zoo before 3pm.

Help Ms. Grizz

Ms. Grizz is our resident Grizzly Bear at Wildwood Zoo.  She is 38 years old and has lived at our zoo since 1975.  Some of you may remember that we used to have 2 Grizzly Bears at Wildwood Zoo.  After Cubby died, the zoo considered getting another bear to keep Ms. Grizz company, but unfortunately, national zoo regulations had changed and they would not allow a second bear into Ms. Grizz's small exhibit.

We would like to build an entirely new bear exhibit that would house Ms. Grizz and one other grizzly bear on one side and a pair of black bears on the other side. After all Wildwood Zoo got started with black bears! The new exhibit would be a lot more natural in appearance with grass, trees, and a stream for the bears to play in.  Please consider helping out the bear that most of the city of Marshfield has known for over 30 years.

To donate to Ms. Grizz's new enclosure please contact Marshfield Parks and Recreation at 715-384-4642 ext. 0 or send an email to Parkrec@ci.marshfield.wi.us for more information.

Animals need  environmental enrichment and you can help!

We now have a new way to donate to the zoo!  Many of our animals are in need of environmental enrichment.  Environmental enrichment is comprised of food or activities that are specifically designed to challenge and entertain zoo animals.  You can help by donating materials.  A complete list of the materials needed for environmental enrichment can be found here. You can drop off materials with Jerry (the zookeeper) at Wildwood Zoo between 7am and 3pm. You can also bring any items to the Parks and Recreation office (located on floor 2r) in city hall, just be sure to let us know you want to donate the items for the zoo enrichment program.

If you are interested in helping to support the zoo and its many residents in any other ways, please contact the Marshfield Parks & Recreation Department at 715-384-4642, extension 0.
