Zoological Society

The Wildwood Zoological Society was formed in 1972.  For the past thirty-seven years, the Zoo Society has planned, funded, and provided volunteers for most of the programming and events that took place at the zoo.  This year alone, the Zoo Society sponsored several education programs that cost over $3,600.  This included the Spring Education Programs as well as the popular summer program, Wild Wednesdays.

The Zoo Society has several major fundraisers per year to help raise money for the zoo.  Hoot in the Zoo (June), Blues in the Zoo (August), Trick or Treating (October) and Pancake Breakfasts and Spaghetti Dinners (various dates) are some of the events where you can thank and support Zoo Society members.

The Wildwood Park Zoological Society works with the Parks and Recreation Department of the City of Marshfield to continue improvement and expansion of the zoo.

Click the following for a list of upcoming Zoo Society Meetings.  All meetings are held in the Ludwig Building on the zoo grounds (behind the Grizzly Bear exhibit).  Meetings are held the 3rd Thursday of every month and are open to the public.

Zoo Society Update: The Wildwood Zoological Society is in search of new Board Members!

Do you enjoy Wildwood Zoo?  Are you interested in helping shape the zoo's future?  If your answer is yes to either question, you are an excellent candidate for the Wildwood Zoological Society Board!

What does the Zoological Society Board do?                                                   The Zoo Board sponsors Wild Wednesdays, Blues at the Zoo, and several other programs and events.  They also purchase new zoo animals.  The purpose of the Board is to generate public interest in and appreciation of the animal kingdom, promote the zoo, and to solicit, raise, collect, and receive contributions, donations, and gifts for the replacement and acquisition of animals for the zoo and improvements on zoo facilities.

What does a board member have to do?                                                        Board members attend monthly meetings (usually the 3rd Thursday of every month at 7pm) and volunteer at zoo events.

If you are interested in joining the Wildwood Zoological Society Board, please contact Pam Nikolai at 715-384-1108 (work) or 920-205-0192 (cell), or
